With a heavy heart, and with assurance of God’s grace, I am writing to share the sad news hat Neola Reese, mother of Mildred McNeill and widow of Rev. James Reese, died this past week. We will celebrate her life together here at the church, First Presbyterian Church of Hartford, on Saturday, June 22nd at 10 a.m. We have more information to share.

The Repair of Historical Harms: Does It Matter? | Romans 13:8 • The Presbyterian Church (USA) (PCUSA) heard clearly an outstanding debt was due at the 225th General Assembly (June 22). That debt is due largely to Black Presbyterians and other faithful People of Color, all members of the PCUSA and their communities. The Assembly acted to establish: “The Center for the Repair of Historical Harms.”

This picture of the FHC Black Caucus was taken at the conclusion of our meeting on January 12, where Sister Doris Evan’s, Vice President, National Black Presbyterian Caucus, addressed us. Sister Evan’s gave an overview of the National organization and explained how our affiliation with National would be mutually beneficial. This idea of affiliating with National will be the subject of future discussions.
