“We Would See Jesus!”
John 12:21

“They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request, ‘Sir,’ they said, “we would like to see Jesus.”

You have at least three ways of accepting the truth: what you see with your own eyes, hear with your own ears or the truthful testimony of someone. In John 12:20-33, Jesus was already in Jerusalem. Many had seen Jesus performed several miracles: feeding the 5000, walking on water, healing a man born blind and raising Lazarus from the dead, just to name a few. The Greeks who came looking for Jesus had only heard of Jesus and his miracle works. Not willing to trust the testimony of others they came to Philip seeking to investigate the matter of who Jesus was for themselves.

The Season of Lent has given way to Holy Week: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Resurrection Sunday. Our prayerful and joyful celebration is a reminder that the Holy One came and promises to come again.

The message to these non-Jews and soon to be Coverts where these, you need to see Jesus: before he is glorified (returns), before your troubles come, and before it is too late. There is no better time than NOW!

As we do the ministry of our congregations and the National Black Presbyterian Caucus, I want to encourage you, in whatever you do for Christ and the Caucus, Do It Now!

I would love to share the NBPC’s purpose and vision with you, your Session, and your congregation. Our Chapters and Regional Leadership stands ready to assist. Let’s Just Do It. Now!
